A provincial event was held in Bariay on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the assassination of peasant leader Niceto Pérez García, the 64th anniversary of the signing of the Agrarian Reform Law by our historic leader Fidel Castro Ruz and the 62nd anniversary of the establishment of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP).
Once again our municipality is the scene for the celebration, this time the protagonists were the peasants and cooperative members.
The whole community accompanied the farmers and cooperative members of the CCS "Romárico Cordero" and the CPA "Manuel Piti Fajardo" in this central activity for the Day of the Cuban Farmer, presided by Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, Member of the Central Committee and First Secretary of the Party in the Province, Julio César Estupiñán Rodríguez, Governor of Holguín, Mónica Carranza Genoralitty, First Secretary of the municipal committee of the party in the municipality, Alexis Driggs Gómez President of the Municipal Assembly of the Popular Power, Alcides Madrigal Álvarez Official of the National direction of the ANAP, Amaury Velázquez Zaldívar and Michel García Pupo, President of the ANAP in the Province and the municipality respectively and Edgar Garcés Pupo, Delegate of the Ministry of Agriculture in the Province.
And in a very special way, the work heroes of the Republic of Cuba, Alfredo Efraín Guerrero Laffita and Miguel Ángel Sainz Serrano also participated.
The Provincial Bureau of ANAP approved the status of Provincial Vanguard to 21 cooperatives and 48 cooperative members and farmers.
The CPA Marcos Campaña, CCS Marcos Campaña and CCS José Antonio Echeverría received the recognition that accredits them with this status. And the farmers Alina Rodríguez Porto CCS 17 de mayo, Toño Góngora Góngora of the CCS Juan J Fornet, Jorge Romero Suárez CCS Walfrido Betancourt.
Also recognized in our municipality as "National Vanguard" were the CPA Victoria de Girón, CCS 17 de mayo and the peasants; Alina Rodríguez Porto CCS 17 de mayo, Ismaray Nieves Riva CCS Romárico Cordero, José Portelles Candelario of the CCS José Antonio Echeverría, Wilian Artigas Caballero CCS Walfrido Betancourt.
The municipalities of Cacocum and Gibara were also recognized for having been outstanding in the special emulation for May 17.
For the integral results achieved in the fulfillment of the tasks of the organization and at the proposal of the Provincial Bureau, the National Bureau of ANAP approved to grant the status of National Vanguard to the municipality "Rafael Freyre".
